After many years we finally have a vinyl follow up to Fisty Kendal’s debut album (one of the first artists on Third Kind). This is such a rich collection of music inspired by IDM, hip hop, funk, Detroit techno etc. There is a resolute humour that runs through the album whilst also making a subtle commentary on subjects such as the cost of living crisis, producing electronic music and the sudden rise of AI, which he has also written a number of articles on in his day job.

Compiled from Fisty Kendal’s very favourite recordings of the last 8 years the album covers a lot of ground. Comparisons have been drawn to electro and Computer World-era Kraftwerk, early Aphex Twin and his Rephlex label, funky Detroit artists such as Eddie Fowlkes, and the humour of artists such as Wevie Stonder and Ween. This album is brimming with ideas but with an attention to detail that you can really get your teeth into. Always playful and always funky, Fisty Kendal’s music is best described as braindance.

‘Price Match!’ features guest spot collisions from longtime Croydon homies Superman Revenge Squad on the philosophical post-punk-rock-sprechesgang ‘Dead Crow Blues’ and rising star of Ugandan rap Swordman Kitala (Nyege Nyege, Hakuna Kulala) on the machine funk of ‘Songa Tuceze’.
